I found an interesting article on the internet of Artists way of portraying how the world is with looking a certain way and having to feel like going through with plastic surgery to look a certain way:

However, the models nips and tucks are actually cut outs from fashion magazines.
The artistic duo poke fun at the fashion industry by placing new noses, lips and eyes over models faces to show how plastic surgery can form entirely new facial expressions.
The fascinating project entitled ID allows the French artists to experiment with visual perception showing that beauty is no longer natural, but is socially constructed.
Professional photographer Bruno Metra, 45, said: "In the media we are bombarded by images of others.
Magazines, cinema and television keep creating and imposing codes that become social references. What one must look like, how to wear make-up, what clothes to wear, how to behave.
The act of representation has taken over what's real; models erase themselves in order to gain another self."

ANNEGRET SOLTAU:
a German multifaceted artist who works with photographs, performances and video.
She wants to analyze herself, both physically and psychologically, and the female role in our society.
Her method of analysis is strictly connected to the idea of destruction and reconstruction of her image. This process drives her to a new form of photo-collage, where the main ingredient used to stick together all the pieces is not glue but a simple black thread. In this way we can describe her work as a product of handcraft.
"Already as a child I suspected that I was looking for something, however, it took a long time until I found the way to the fine arts (see also my biographical portrait). My inspiration comes from my own experience as well as from the awareness of my personal surroundings and of society. Simultaneously my technical and artistic work gives me new ideas"
"The technique evolved from the etching to the haptic line/thread. This was the content of my work: I wanted to “mark” the human body so that he/she could feel the drawing on his/her skin. In this way my work developed to photography and video-documentation. Gradually these techniques became independent, and I invented the photo restitching: I tear out parts of the image in the photo and insert other parts. It results in a break but also in a new whole, it is ambivalent."
She then came out with the question of "What happens to women these days, how do they present themselves? Which compulsions (and liberties) exist for women today?"

Bart Hess (1984) explores several fields combining material studies, animation and photography in a surrealist manner. With his fascination for the human body and the manipulation of it, Hess pushes the boundaries of the textile design profession: his designs transcend the craft, as Hess chooses to extend them via other media such as film, photography and animation. His futuristic materials and textures blur the boundary between textile and skin, human and new species.
With his work Hess has obtained an independent position in the world of fashion, design and art. His list of international collaborations and clients include prestigious names such as Lady Gaga, Lucy McRae, Palais de Tokyo and Nick Knight.

fmp work so far

 I wanted to portray the fact that everyone in this world watches tv,reads magazines and newspapers and were all being brainwashed to watch and believe everything that is being said.

FMP thoughts so far.

Starting my FMP,i had a rough idea of what I want as my finished piece first off(whether I want it to be fine art,a garment etc) and as I am into fashion I would like to end with a garment.Although it depends on how I want my actual fmp subject to come across.I had brainstormed,and I thought whatever I come up with I keep thinking and reminding myself,i want the final piece to relate to people,how they feel or whats going on in their lives and bring across good or bad emotions,make people react when they look at it.I began to think about reality,the general idea of what our generation and the "real world" is all about nowadays.This brought more society into mind,social media,social network,celebrities etc.My FMP needs to be something I am actually interested in and feel strongly about which is why I am happy with this idea as it is such a wide range of what I could go into with this I can look more and more into it to get a really good final piece.
My starting point was looking at how girls are meant/expected to look now,and I looked into Barbie dolls and how they are meant to be seen as the perfect girl,slim,blonde,blue eyes,no imperfections or difference/edge to her.I experimented with drawing Barbie dolls in a different way.I am planning on buying some Barbie dolls and experimenting more with them as a sculpture piece to try out.This made me think of all the fakery there is,plastic surgery,makeup,fake hair,nails,skin colour.This doesn't mean im saying its a bad thing if a girl wants to do that if they feel it builds their confidence and makes them feel good but its the fact they have been almost brainwashed to think that,looking up to celebrities and especially boys have a big impact on all this because girls do this to impress them.
After thinking of that,i thought of stereotypes.How a girl is meant to be and how a boy is meant to be.I experimented with this idea with abstract/fine art.
I then looked more into bullying,which involves cyber bullying,social networks,not being who everyone expects you to be,even as a young person.I found some good artists who create cyber bullying art.Also looking into
Liu Bolin's work who camouflages him self into the background,which portrays feeling invisible and not important in my point of view.I will possibly try out his work in my own way.

I went back to the whole society stage,celebrities,magazines,newspapers,television programmes and looked more into detail with it and got to a serious stage of looking into actual important history making stories that are all over the world, government,new world order politics and even our universe.
As even before we began our FMP I was getting into all of that already so i thought it is a good time to let it all out on my work.All the research id be doing anyway in my own time when I am bored,to put it in my actual work.Ive been looking into the secret behind it all,the brainwashing silly programmes on tv that everyone in the world watches and gets sucked into when it is actually brainwashing us.The articles we read,the question that is being asked is why should we believe the people that write the news and everything.
I looked into artists that relate their work to this so I have back up as to what I am trying to portray.
I have been looking into abstract expressionism and protest art.

The invisible man: Liu Bolin's amazing camouflage artwork

 

My interpretation of his work-

I am very interested in Bolin's work so I searched more into it and why he wanted to create this sort of art and I found a video on youtube of one of his shows he does speaking about his work.

Dissolved into the background to express his concerns,expressions and thoughts to the society and the environment around it.

One of his pieces of work means a lot to him as it was at a village that once was his home town that got demolished by the government urban management.In order to show his anger of unfair treatment he painted himself to get himself insolved in the demolished building background.

Expressing his concerns and questions to the unfair treatment they received as artists in china.It was his protest to the government.

In his talk he says"the national people congress system is the fondimentals to our society"

"we need to vote according to our laws"

Im hoping to work towards a garment either painted to look derelict almost camouflaged with all the rubbish laying around in the streets.Or actually creating a garment with scraps I find on the streets for example crisp packets,rubbish,cigarette buds etc.
